Tips For Making Customers Feel Welcome Without Making Them Feel Overwhelmed

One thing that will be important if you have your own company is that you make customers feel welcome when they walk in your store, but another thing that is important for you to realize is that it is also possible to make customers feel suffocated and overwhelmed; in order to increase the success of your business, it will be important that you have an understanding of the difference between making your customers feel comfortable and making them feel like they just want you to leave them alone!

You should greet a customer the moment they enter the store, and then you find out if there is anything they need help with; this is important, as a lot of people will greet a customer, wait for them to walk around for a bit, and then ask if they need help with anything - but when you ask as an addendum to the greeting, the customer will feel as though you are being helpful, without feeling as though you are being overbearing.

A "hovering body" is another thing that tends to bother customers; you will want your customers to know that you are available to help them in any way they need and to answer any questions they have, but it is much better (and much more effective) to let them know you are ready to help by wearing a smile and remaining open and available with your body language than by sticking close to them and waiting for them to ask you a question.

And if the customer asks for your help, make sure you go over and above what is necessary in trying to help them, sticking with them as long as they need you - but not sticking with them any longer than they do!

Being helpful to your customers without making them feel like you are bothering them, or like you are trying to "sell them something," can be a fine line to walk, but as you keep these tips in mind, you will keep getting better at it - and eventually you will have no problem at all making your customers feel comfortable and right at home!

Tips For Getting Along With Others On Your Project Team

If you are on a project team at work, nothing can be worse than finding that you do not get along with the others. Of course, it is vital that you get along with these people as best you can - especially if the project will be lasting for a while and you will be stuck with these people every day. Even though you might not care for everyone on the team, you can still get along with them (even the worst of them!) by following these tips.

You need to recognize, first and foremost, that it is not always important for you to prove that you are right. If you are on a team with a "know it all" who (naturally!) tends to be wrong most of the time, this can be especially difficult, but it is still important. Oftentimes, the majority of the members on a project team will be absolutely wrong about something, but this "something" will be something that has no real bearing on the project; you will begin to notice this as you realize that you do not always have to prove you are right. In this way, you need to learn to correct the rest of your team only when it is absolutely necessary - in essence, picking your battles.

Picking your battles also extends beyond letting people know when they are wrong, as you will likely encounter conflicts and frustrations with the way some of the others work. In the end, if you only assert your strong opinions on a matter when it is actually important to do so, it will be better for both yourself and the project. Especially when you are around the same people every day, it can be difficult to be "the bigger man," but this will pay off in the long run.

Being the "bigger man" also extends to those times when someone else on your project team tries to take credit for work they did not actually do. In the end, your superiors will come to realize who did the work and who did nothing!

Being on a project team is supposed to be all about completing the project well, but it often turns out to also be about surviving to the end! When you follow these tips, you will be able to survive and even thrive to the end of the project.

Tips For Creating Unique, Quality Content On Your Website

When you are looking at the elements of search engine optimization on your website, it is very easy to start complicating things, but while there are certainly plenty of things that go into how your website will be ranked by search engines, the main thing you should focus on within your website is creating content that is quality and unique; of course, this is a somewhat vague directive in and of itself, and for this reason it is beneficial to take a closer look at exactly what is meant by "quality and unique" content.

Quality content: Realize, first of all, that there is a difference between content that is high-quality, and content that will actually be valuable to those who are visiting your website; if you have a website that focuses on auto repair, a high-quality blog post about polar ice caps will not be valuable to your visitors - and even though this is an extreme example, it should help you understand exactly what it means to write quality content! You should make sure that each thing you write on your website should be valuable to the people who will be coming to your site.

Unique content: When it comes to unique content, your first focus should be that you are writing content that is unique to your own site; when you are writing about topics that other sites are not covering - or when you are writing about a topic from a different angle than other sites are writing from - you will increase the likelihood that visitors will share this content with others, and that you will increase backlinks and traffic (not to mention search engine rankings) as a result. And it will also be important, as far as unique content goes, that the content you create is unique within your own site; if you lift things from other areas of your site, or if you cover the exact same topics over and over again, this will not be good for your search engine rankings - but if you continue to allow your ideas to evolve, and continue writing unique content, your site will continue to thrive!

Writing Good Articles To Grow Your Website

One thing you may have come to understand is that writing articles - and submitting these articles to article sites - is an excellent way for you to create backlinks for your website, and for you to drive up direct traffic, but one thing you may still be trying to figure out is exactly what constitutes a "good" article.

Of course, the foundation of a good article should be good, competent writing, but while it is pretty much impossible to write a good article with bad writing, it is not at all impossible to write a bad article with good writing - and the content of the article itself will be your first defense against having a bad article: make sure the content relates to your site, and that it provides readers with valuable information.

After you have made sure that the topic you are covering relates to your site (doing so with good writing), you will also want to make sure the writing itself is conversational and engaging; do your best to cause readers to feel as though they are reading something written "to them" by someone they know, rather than making them feel as though they are reading some sort of business correspondence.

And making sure to leave your articles open-ended will be one of the biggest keys to getting clicks on the links you include in the articles you write; this can be a fine line to balance your writing along, as you will want to make your articles informative and worth reading, but will want to do so without giving so much away that your reader feels there is no need to click on the link you provide - so write with this goal in mind, and keep tabs on how many clicks you get on different articles, so you can determine which approaches are working and which can be discarded.

When you keep these tips in mind as you write your articles, you will be able to start increasing your site's search engine ranking and traffic - all by writing about a topic that relates to your site, and that you probably enjoy writing about in the first place!
