How To Give Your Cat A Bath
It is not very often that you will have to give your cat a bath, as they do a good job of keeping themselves clean - and this is a good thing, because giving a cat a bath is not a fun adventure! If your cat has gotten into something they should not have gotten into, however - or if your cat has come down with a bad case of fleas - you might have to give your cat a bath; if you find yourself in this unfortunate circumstance, you can minimize the damage you will sustain by following these tips!
The first thing you will need to do is pick up some cat shampoo, and then you should fill up the bathtub with warm water so that it is deep enough to cover your cat's paws; once you have done this, retrieve your cat, acting as calm as possible, and apply a bit of baby oil or olive oil to its eyes so that the shampoo will not bother it. Close the doors to your bathroom so that your cat cannot escape, and then set your cat in the bathtub. Your cat will probably attempt an escape, and when it does, make sure you are not too forceful with it; instead, simply keep your hand on their upper back, grabbing the excess skin to keep them calm, and try to keep them in the tub as you fill up a cup with water from the bottom of the tub and use it to soak the cat's fur. Once your cat's fur is soaked, you can apply the shampoo, trying to keep your cat as calm as possible while you work the shampoo into their fur. Once the scrubbing of the cat is complete, you can start to drain the water, and can run some warm water to rinse off your cat; try to keep the cat around long enough to pat it dry with a towel, then get out of the way as your now-clean cat looks for something on which it can take out its anger! http://bluerose.jamesloving.com/
