Making Your Fantasy Football League More Fun

Fantasy football is one of the most popular ways for people to spend their time during football season, and while some people play fantasy football simply as a way by which to compete against other people (often people they do not even know!) and make a bit of extra money if they win their league, others use fantasy football as a way to keep up with their old friends and participate in something along with them; if you play in a fantasy football league with a bunch of your old friends, you will obviously want to win, but even more important than the winning will be making the league as fun as possible!

One thing that will make the league fun if you are playing with a bunch of your old friends is if you use the league as a way to interact with one another; if you all live in the same town, you can meet up to watch NFL games together, and even if you live in different parts of the country, you can interact on the message boards for your league - and you can even stir up the banter if you have someone who posts Power Rankings for your league each week, or who creates topics of conversation each week.

Coming up with ideas that have a carryover effect from one season to the next is another idea for making your league more fun; for instance, you could do a "red shirt" pick during the draft, during which each member of the league picks a player who did not get drafted as their "red shirt" pick, and each member of the league will then have the option of taking that "red shirt" pick in the 16th round of the next year's draft, no matter how highly coveted they are by the end of this season!

And one problem many fantasy football leagues deal with is that the teams at the bottom of the league stop paying attention to their team and to the league as the season wears on - but if you come up with a fun and embarrassing punishment for the team that does the worst each week or does the worst on the season, everyone will be encouraged to continue participating.

Start getting creative with the things you and your friends do in your fantasy football league, and watch as it becomes more and more fun!
